Discipline guidelines:

1st offense: child is given a warning

2nd offense: child is given time out for no more than 10        minutes (depends on age and offense)

3rd offense: site director meets with parent and child

Parents will receive documentation on 3rd, 4th and 5th      offenses.

The YMCA of Northeast Louisiana in no way supports corporal or physical punishment of any child. Time out is our only form of punishment and consists of the child sitting in an area away from the other children but in sight of workers at all times.

Reasons for immediate dismissal:

Fighting

Behavior leading to the endangerment of the other children

The YMCA cannot provide care for sick children. Please do not send your child to after-school if they are ill or contagious. Should your child become ill while attending after-school, we require that your child be picked up as soon as possible after we contact you. We will contact parents immediately if their child becomes ill or injured.

You must sign out your child.  This is very important for the safety of the children.  Failure to sign out your child may result in a $5.00 fee.

Please pick up your child by 6:00pm (or by 5:30pm at Crosely).

Picking up a child late will result in additional charges:

$15.00 for the first 10 minutes, and $1.00 for each additional minute

If a child is not picked up by the end of the program day, we will do our best to contact a parent or guardian using the information given on the registration form.  If no parent or guardian can be reached, we may contact the Sheriff's Department and turn the child over to protective services.

Medicine and Emergency:

We do not give out over the counter medication however we will give prescribed medicine only after a medicine release for has been filled out by the parent/legal guardian. Please make sure all information on your registration form is correct and please let us know through out the school year if there are any changes that need to be made. This information is important in case of an emergency.
